In the stretch between the Aussie Open and the French Open in May, we at SimpleTennis Blog like to kick back, relax and look forward to the tennis season ahead. Sure there are some minor events here and there, but mostly we’re on maintenance mode. It’s therefore big news when you hear one of the sport’s biggest stars suffers not just one medical scare, but two!
On February 27 it was reported Serena Williams was omitted to hospital with an emergency condition. We later learned it was a blot clot, or more specifically a pulmonary embolism. (You can read more on the Star by clicking the pic.)
We learned today that Serena Williams was again admitted to hospital due to complications to the earlier event, and that the clot had spread to her lungs, which required immediate treatment. The good news is that in a statement she says she’s now okay and recouping at home.
We at SimpleTennis Blog (STB) wish her all the best and a speedy recovery. I’m sure it won’t be long until she’s back on the court and crunching those backhands.
